A gateway town to the Dibang Valley, Roing is home to the Bhupen Hazarika Setu, a landmark bridge spanning the Brahmaputra and named after the celebrated Assamese singer. Nearby, the Deopani Bridge crosses the Eze river, offering scenic views and marking the start of the winding mountain road toward Mayodia Pass and Anini.

The remote headquarters of Upper Dibang Valley district, reached via the dramatic Mayodia Pass, one of the most scenic high-altitude crossings in the region, often snow-covered in winter. Anini sits amid the Mishmi Hills, home to the Idu Mishmi tribal community, with dense forests that form part of the wider Mouling National Park landscape (visited more directly from Pasighat).
