Dudhwa National Park Safari

Dudhwa National Park, straddling the terai belt of Uttar Pradesh along the Nepal border, is one of India's most underrated tiger reserves. Its mosaic of tall grasslands, sal forests, and marshy wetlands supports a rich diversity of wildlife, including the Bengal tiger, leopard, and sloth bear. Dudhwa is especially notable for successfully reintroducing the one-horned rhinoceros to a dedicated sanctuary zone within the park, and for hosting the largest population of barasingha (swamp deer) in the world. Its terai grassland ecosystem, rarer and less visited than central India's forests, also draws birdwatchers for species like the Bengal florican, while crocodiles bask along its rivers. A visit here offers a quieter, more offbeat alternative to India's better-known tiger circuits.
